mixed feelings.

yay for no more getting up before 6am. boo for no more working. 7 weeks is not long enough for something like that.

to make up for the short time, I wrote them a poem. a tribute. hehe.

Linleigh came to visit us at work today! I love Linleigh.

...and today she brought us caramel macchiatos from Starbucks ;)

and then I got slightly more excited to read A History of the American People than I normally am. But it really isn't that bad... seriously. What other history textbook has a line like "...the House of Burgesses (or whatever they were called)?"

Awkwardness + WO-AH-AH-OH

Sooo, yeah.

16/(can't drive) + (professional world)(happy hour) = supreme(awkward)

But this bar at which the happy hour was held (the same one that I had to attend for 2.5 hours while attempting to camouflage with the wallpaper-- even though there was no wallpaper) was Irish. So they played cool music. I thought about asking for the playlist... but nonexistent wallpaper does not ask for playlists, does it?

I think I held up pretty well. But even when professional people do not get drunk, they do drink at happy hours. And alcohol + people = LOUD.

...but I can't deny that seeing my English teacher and hearing her compliment me to her mom was nice :)

Aaaaanyways. CHECK IT OUT!! it is finally up!!! yayyy for Facebook and... hey... social media connections with brands/companies/artists and fans! (seriously, if you were at Rock, and even if you weren't, click that link for a bit of nostalgia).

my Daddy stopped in to visit me at work today :) he brought me an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks :) it was so great to see him, and a total surprise.

ALSO: I forgot yesterday, but... it was the 1-year anniversary of the first time I ever talked to Christine!!!! So crazy. Today is the 1-year anniversary of... other things :P

I had a fabulous time at work. I was talking to my dad on the way back about the ways God blessed me today... and I think it struck him that I was most thankful out of everything, not for the "Intern Appreciation Day" Starbucks or time I got to spend emailing and chatting at lunch, but for work to do. And it's true, I don't like to be idle.

Today I got to work with movies!
and political campaign websites!
and more movies!
And that made me so HAPPY!

I think I was actually useful today. They put me in my area of expertise. and I was happy.

Intern Appreciation Day is not a half-bad idea either.

yeah, I had my first day of being an intern. they were really busy today. I was really not, because nobody had time to train me in anything. SO, I didn't really do much...

...except make Oscar a blog! It will document his travels and other adventures :)

I woke up at 5:45. ew. But then I went to shadow Brody all day, which was cool.
And one guy I'm to be working with this summer is from Russia! (ish... Kyrgyzstan, actually.)

Okay so.... I arrived at Christine's Coffee House at.... 6-ish.

And, we ate. things. (Like the mozzarella sticks, that kinda exploded in the oven, so they were more like inside out mozzarella sticks.)

Then we went to Rita's, and got gelatis. (My computer doesn't like that word.) We started walking home... and it rained. So, we hitch-hiked. Sort of.

We admired the awesome thunderstorm. 'Twas really cool. :P

Then we watched The Hunt for Red October... ate cookies... and popcorn.

And guess what else we did?? It's four letters, rhymes with walk... I bet you'll never guess... :P

As of now the four ... er ... TWO of us are having lots of fun. More of that secret business that you will never guess.

And fun chats... and quad-souled goddesses.

((Sidenote-- this basically means, I generally couldn't care less about compliments because I am very aware of what I do well, and also very aware of what I don't. So when somebody surprises me it's pretty ...thrilling =) ))

and the funny thing is, I'm not really that nervous... more like NERVISH,

that anxious-happy feeling when you're not sure whether to dread or to get excited or what on earth you should do (it usually involves a little bit of twitchiness)
