Glad y'all have stuck around through the mundanities of my life.

Things that made me smile (in no particular order; not even chronological):

• Completing THE MAZE.
• Not-failing Government test.

• Girl-talking at lunch (hey, we confirmed the problem but never came up with a solution).

So many reasons to celebrate!

• Four-hundredth post, right here!
• "Hundredth" is an awesome word to spell.
• Shopping with Kristina and Kristen... spending hours in thrift stores... Oh, Shabby Button, how I <3 thee.
• Swing dance at Lancaster! My first time! Actually, my first time dancing anywhere but church's swing... literally... unless you count my house when nobody but Kristen and I are home ;)
• Fell half-asleep on the way home, to the sound of squeaky windshield wipers and David saying something about lizards to which Kristina replied with something about crickets... David says I was asleep and dreaming, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

I Learned...

A lot about following. Like, up until now I knew the cues and then what I was supposed to do next after that cue, but tonight I was dancing with a whole new crowd. Usually I dance with the same 4 people all the time. I know the moves they know. Mostly. But I certainly don't know any more. And tonight I learned a little more about how to simply follow and trust and not try to figure out what the cue means before acting (because that will only bring about back-leading, which is baaaad).

The Good:

• Chapel = amazing

• Birthday wishes from everyone :)
• A certain card covered in C.S. Lewis quotes and purple lettering that made me smile a lot.

The Bad: I still have homework... lol.

Singsingsing!

The Good: Sang on two praise teams today: one for Sunday morning 8:30 and 10:30 services, and one for Sunday evening Praise & Worship service. Yay!

The Bad: Have been pretty much out of the house since 6:45am. Ended the whole thing by standing up into Kristen's nose, which she is convinced is broken.

The Random: Deep-fried twinkies = d'lish. mmmmm.

am I an extravert?

I am doubting my introversion. I know I adore having time to myself being busy and such, and I need it, and I enjoy it... but dear me. talking with people and seeing people makes me so happy!

and "words of affirmation" is most definitely my "love language," if you will. therefore, when people talk to me and ..umm...affirm... me, it just makes me smile.

first day of school, by the way. goodish day.

and a boy asked for Kristen's email address today... lol. he invited her to come to his pool on Saturday. that made me smile.

At dinner tonight, we were talking about Kristen. I think she ought to do Irish Dance, like, at a school somewhere, like Tara does. And her legs are like five miles long. But, because her legs are five miles long, they also want her on the basketball team at school.

Kristen: I don't want to do basketball; I'll get pumbled!

Mom: Pummeled? I think you can hold your own.

Kristen: Hold my own what?

*silence*

Katie: Maybe she ought to do Irish Dance.

Outreach!

today was the CYMA outreach! I love that thing! I was videographer. It was cool. They did a super job...

ESPECIALLY MY SISTER!!! OH MY!

Kristen had really the only "solos" in the entire program.

She had the solo/main character for the "Falling Down" Intermediate Mime (which was soooo amazing... Joanna usually does that part, and Joanna is a professional mime with three years of mime college).

She also was "point" for the Irish Dance. The song was "I Will Arise and Go to Jesus/Musical Priest" by Michael Card (that's a mouthful, isn't it?). And she had a way cool solo dance thing.

And... GO KRISTEN!

Also, it was Tag's 2nd birthday today, so he got to eat a snowball and some of Kristen's cappuccino milkshake... for the record, golden retrievers get REALLY hyper on caffeine.

alsooo, Middlemarch is a fabulous book. It is similar in structure and length to Anna Karenina, similar in subject matter to Pride & Prejudice, and similar in authorship to Jane Eyre.
And I admit that it is more to my taste than such wonderful works as the one I put down in order to pick this one up, The Silmarillion. Sorry, David & Colin.

HD, Superdrive, airport, bluetooth, ethernet, etc.

So, yesterday was fun. I didn't post because Megan & Marina slept over.

This post is for yesterday.

One theme kept randomly popping up...

In Sunday School we were talking about reflecting Jesus. How we don't shine on our own... we're like the moon. We're only dust. But... SHINY DUST! hehe.

Then, in church, the pastor was talking about humility. How we are made of dust. Not stardust or pixie dust... like, dirt-dust. (in parentheses: shiny dust!)

Then, after church, my dad, Tag, Kristen, and I went down to the creek. And Kristen made some comment about dust, but I forget what it was because I don't take notes everywhere, just church :P

Kristen was cleaning her room today and found this awesome fringed shawl-thing... and she didn't want it, so she gave it to me :)

Of course, I had to make it into a shirt... nothing a knot and a safety pin wouldn't do for me :P

Also, I babysat tonight :)

They have a psychotic (albeit FLUFFY) cat. Seriously, the thing was attacking my leg when I didn't pay it enough attention.

ALSO, my art project is almost done! YAY Photoshop!!!

Good, good night tonight. Swing dance, of course :)

Swing dance used to have another area available for people to hang out in when they didn't want to dance, but they always broke stuff. So there were little signs up telling people to stay in the main room. Well, Christine and I were sorta bored and the signs were kinda itty bitty, so we made bigger, better, beautifuller signs!

Mediafest

Today in Chem lab we started The Hunt for Red October. SO much better than burning things, like we usually do.

and it is SO HOT right now. he has a lot of hair (obviously), so he gets reallyreally hot and does funny things like pant loud enough to hear from the other room.

Today, my baby sister turned 13... :sigh:

I need to come up with a new label for her. I've been grouping her under "kids." As she is an inch and a quarter taller than me and looks like a model, I don't think I can do that anymore... :sigh:

We set up a Facebook for her.

She had more friends in the first hour than I did in my first WEEK on Facebook :P
