Life in Bel Air this year has been horrible.
I might even go so far as to say, it's deplorable.
Every time I want so bad to see you
I must slap my own hand and say, "Stop! I will beat you!"
"If you do not stop this abominable wish
To see someone so far away as Africa... ish...
You will be miserable, take it from me
I've been there, you know, the depths I have seen--
The depths of the pit of Hell and despair."
(Okay, this drama thing is going nowhere)
But alas, through all of my self-reprobation,
I miss you; my heart is one huge conflagration.
It's burning and aching... oh, no, here we go...
Melodrama went out three decades ago.
Regardless, my dear, Christine, my friend,
I miss you a lot. So this poem I send.
My yearning for you is true ever-present;
Without you, it's quite hard to be effervescent.
So come back at your earliest convenience
For I miss you with all of my love and allegiance.

Act Your Shoe Size Day!
I started this last July... third Wednesday in July, yes :)
It's a good time. I wear a 7.5 or 8, so yesterday was going to be awesome.
I started out the day waking up at 8. It felt good. Any time 8-9 is the perfect time to wake up in the summer.
Then Mark came over with footage & stills for the Sunday School volunteer recruitment video. That was not something I would have bothered with when I was 8.
Then I decided to get serious. I took my book, my water bottle, and my two Oreo cookies in a bag up to my reading tree. It is the reading tree because it has good spots for sitting and reading and eating Oreos. It has been my favorite tree since I moved here almost 13 years ago.
After about 5 minutes, I realized that there were ants crawling all over me. Another 5 minutes in, I realized that there were lots of other, more vicious bugs crawling all over me. Not long after that, I realized why I always had so many bug bites when I was 8.
So I did what any self-respecting third-grader would do and ran into the house where there was air conditioning and no bugs.
THEN I did a bunch of 16-year-old-stuff like Facebook and email and video editing and book club.
Then I read. Like, a lot. That's about all I did when I was that age. Reading, reading, reading, all the time, even while eating. Speaking of eating, I went to the grocery store with my mom like I used to, and then got Rita's like I always have when I have a sore throat...
Speaking of which, I was sick yesterday, so I also did stuff I did when I was 8 and sick, like complaining.
Then I went to bed at 9, which I actually think is 30 minutes past what my bedtime used to be. My bedtime was 9 when I was 12, let alone 7.5.
the end.

random!!
Lots of random smiley things today.
Since I was not exactly thrilled at the prospect of spending 2.5 hours on math homework I'd already worked on for 1.5 (and my CD player is broken), I had to find something to make it fun... so I wore my new shoes. Bright colors make me happy =P
Then I found random things on the internet that made me laugh, such as:
(^^ SO TRUE!!!)
hehe =)
AND, AND AND!
I am officially beginning "Katie's Book of Commonplaces" today.
What on earth is a "commonplace," you may ask.
Basically, it's a quote. When you boil it down, that's all it really is.
So I'm going to keep it by my side as I read The Picture of Dorian Gray. by Oscar Wilde. Because that book is amazing and the most quotable product of media after The Princess Bride.
Except it's a WHOLE lot more depressing (it's like Russian lit for English speakers!)
but it's still fun.
I have at least 3 things underlined every two pages.
AND, AND AND!
This weekend I officially began "Katie's Book of Awesome People," which has been in the making for a very, very long time.
This chick is seriously losing it, I'll bet you're thinking.
But no, no, listen!
It's great.
I know that in my life there are people that just make me go "OOH! I just want to ADOPT that person as my new [grandmother/grandfather/mother/father/sister/brother/pet parakeet]!!"
So this is where I write them down, write WHY they're in there, and I have to think about it. And then at the end I give each of them a word, that is just their word.
As of now, I have the title page, the introduction, the dedication, and two entries. Aren't you proud of me?
One thing about today that is not making me smile, at all... I still have an hour to work on math, and I just wasted forever on Chemistry (bleeechhh) and Facebook. hah. Only about 15 minutes of forever were on Facebook.
OH! And I also ate Greater's ice cream!!
Black Raspberry Chip, doncha know.

*ahhhh*
^^this one is a sigh of relief.
I’ll tell you this: I won’t be normal
in any sense of the word.
I can say that I’ll always be
quite a bit absurd.
I love the things that make me laugh,
and people too, I guess.
At times I’ll like what makes me cry
(but definitely less).
I’m not first choice, in any way,
for any sort of sport,
and also not for sympathy
(I’m a definite last resort).
Yep, I shall always say it straight:
the truth is not a cupcake,
so why on Earth should I sugarcoat it?
I abhor being fake.
Lastly, please do not expect
eagerness, squeals, and such.
I’m not your “average” teenage girl,
but that's not saying much =)
No school today... and that means... no debate this week =)
I saw a bunch of my friends.
HI SARAH!! =D
AND, I wrote myself a personal ad.

USER MANUAL: read carefully!
Thank you for choosing this model of person. This version includes the advanced feature of Working Module (WM), which guarantees that this person is willing to work and make money for her future family, she enjoys both theoretical and pracical works. Note that this person cannot be exposed to extreme emotions; the Empathy Training Module (ETM) is not included. Exposing to high level of emotions may cause malfunctions and stop the valuable feature: thinking algorithm. We are proud to introduce the new and improved Shopping Module, which is capable of spending money in a book store. Further tests required, but the recent tests show that this person cannot be used for shopping in tweenage-oriented clothing related stores. Version includes Entertainment Function, which works regularly on better days, also includes optimistic parameters. If the person looks frozen, wave your hands in front of her eyes, to catch her attention, most possibly she is only thinking. If she smiles during this time, it means she found out how to rule the world or maybe she is daydreaming about something. This person includes wide knowledge of random facts and high performance ability of learning. Also runs a well working music module.
1. This person can NOT read other’s minds. She won’t find out what is your problem. Voice or written conversation are required to send her a problem, and she will attempt to solve it.
2. This person can NOT reincarnate. Don’t kill her.
3. This person can NOT dance. This feature can be added to her repertoire by teaching her.
4. This person can NOT be fed by fast foods, raw meats, and sugary snacks.
5. This person requires loyalty, and gives loyalty.
6. This person can NOT watch Hollywood-made horror or romantic movies.
7. This person needs at least 6 hours of sleeping each day.
8. This person will NOT go to parties each weekend.
By violating these points there is a risk of losing the long life warranty.
(^^ This is an actual published article; I just tweaked it so it fit me. INTJs ftw!)

I <3 Ideas!!!
So, I do love starting new things.
Aside from starting the official "Katie's Book of Awesome People" last night, I found a really great idea online that wasn't mine!
I would encourage EVERYONE to go check out Operation Beautiful.
To participate, go [here].
You don't have to be confident yourself to do this. You don't even have to be female.
But make somebody's day (or a lot of somebodies!) and do this =)

Unofficial Holiday
Today is the day my friends and I dubbed "Act Your Shoe Size Day".
Basically, we do as close to what we did when we were the age of our shoe size (in my case, 7 1/2) all day. I can't say I've been exactly strict with it, as I am on the internet and I almost never did that in elementary school, but I did:
get up early
go outside
eat Mac & Cheese
(start) a friendship bracelet
watch cartoons =)
I'm going to look into making it a real holiday... maybe have Chuck-E-Cheese sponsor it.... "Where a kid (or anyone) can be a kid... Chuck-E-Cheese."
