I finished my math homework. SUCCESS! (not really. I finally surrendered on #43 after the THIRD ATTEMPT. yes, I did it three times from scratch and got a seriously messed up answer every time. stupid fractional exponents.)

I also worked on product descriptions.

and I found out that SARA GROVES is going to be in concert TOMORROW MORNING for FREE but then I can't go because I have Bible Force and church :(

but super excited to go to another concert at the Meyerhoff tomorrow :) it ought to be fun. I think I will wear my sparkly tights.

As for today, I smiled when the Government midterm I thought was today was made into a take-home, open-book exam due Monday. And the Literature essay I thought was due tomorrow is now due next Monday.

And there might be an ice storm tonight causing mass power outage and slick roads. Hopefully just enough for a two-hour delay so we can still have school and small group.

BUT HEY it's New Year's Eve. I did have fun today. Vandalism is good exercise :P

New Year's Resolutions:

1. Find something better to do on New Year's Eve.
2. Develop a sense of direction greater than what I have.
3. Develop depth perception greater than what I have. Don't die.
4. Learn how to be passionate.
5. Travel the world. (or, just make good use of my time in EUROPE ...!)
6. Make lists exclusively of either 3 or a factor of 50 (but not 1 or 2).
7. Read every single book C. S. Lewis ever wrote.
8. Learn how to play an instrument like guitar, banjo, ukulele, or the like.
9. Use every page in the Christine-book. EVERY. ONE.
10. Do most everything more, better, faster, truer. Except Facebook, which I ought to do less.

The Good: Just realized that I have officially met my goal of 375 total posts by 2011! haha! goal, I have beat you, and I will beat you again approximately 46 more times >:)

The Bad: I am behind in my college self-set deadlines :/ Such weird short answers take me FOREVER. Two that I have been stuck on for more than 2 weeks:

• As a part of 2010 Wake Forest orientation, the freshman class examined The Andes of Ecuador, a painting by Frederic Church. Next year what work of visual or performing art should the incoming class analyze? Why?
• What idea most challenges you?

The Random: I am so excited for Friday. May it never be said that Lady Kathryne passed on an opportunity to play dress up. (read: Thanksgiving lunch for US History :D)

...anddd there are other things in the works for Friday, but I have mixed feelings about that, so we shall be avoidant and not talk about it..

I love secrets, except for a few circumstances:

a) you know there is one, and you know it's sitting in your sister's un-password-protected email inbox... *cue inner turmoil*

b) you are keeping one, and it's really cool, and you're planning on telling/showing, but only at a specific time. but you reallyreallyreally want to let it out NOW, even though that would ruin the factor of surprise you'd have if you wait... *cue inner trauma*

c) your birthday is in 16 days... *cue inner tsunami*

alsooo, Middlemarch is a fabulous book. It is similar in structure and length to Anna Karenina, similar in subject matter to Pride & Prejudice, and similar in authorship to Jane Eyre.
And I admit that it is more to my taste than such wonderful works as the one I put down in order to pick this one up, The Silmarillion. Sorry, David & Colin.

CYMA Small Groups :)

YAY!
Okay, for those of you who do not know, I get to lead a small group of 10-11 year-old girls at my church's music & arts summer camp. And I am SUPER excited.

Today I got my list of girls...
I got Rachel :) she is my little buddy.
AND I got two girls who were in the daycare I used to work in. How on Earth did that happen? They don't even go to my church! So that was a (pleasant? maybe) surprise. Hey, I haven't really known them since they were little 7-8s, and I sure hope they've grown up :P

All my lesson plans are complete. I am so happy... I shall not ever be a teacher, but I did have so much fun planning my 30-minutes-a-day :) We're going to do all kinds of things; like charades and friendship bracelets and skits and posters! yay for 5th graders!

today was AWESOME!

I rounded off the morning by totaling 9.5 hours of talking with Christine.

We walked down to the creek

and planned a few music videos

and photoshoots

and Halloween costumes

and future-all-nighters

and future-multiple-day-sleepovers :)

(And getting Rita's!)

Then I talked on the phone to the guy heading up the Sunday School I'm speaking at tomorrow (I shall not babble. I shall not babble. I shall not babble.)

...and it sounds like it's going to be awesome :)

Then I had the Africa team dinner

and crazy hair night at youth group

and my Africa presentation with Sandy

(even though I babbled a bit)

and playing spoons/shoots

and playing liar

and hula hooping for 10 minutes straight.

And... well... today I am feeling simply MAGNIFICENT. and MAGNANIMOUS.

I loved seeing (in order of appearance) ChristineErinStephanieSandyAndeeMarkSarahLiviJulietRachelColin ...and I felt just plain wonderful!

Today could hardly have been better.

Also, the weather was gorgeous.

Students Against Boring Binders- that is a society I should really create.

I cannot stand having run-of-the-mill school supplies, or even ones covered in photos and memorabilia (ahh, ever the anti-conformist, eh?). So, every year, I get SUPER excited to get new binders... new playgrounds for the imagination in my fingers =)

Last year's was a pink be-sequined masterpiece, and the one before it was made out of an awesome pair of yard-sale jeans and duct tape. My LIT binder is covered in PURPLE duct tape and wrapping paper.

Today, I fabric-painted my pencil case, and got planning my next BINDER! yay!!
